I need some help on picking out a new set of rims. I want something with some offset and are 15X8. I am not a fan a chrome either. The only rims I have found to like are the Center line Hellcats and the AR Baja's. there used to be some 5 spoke AR's I liked but there were the 98 or 99 year model. Anybody got and pictures or anything to help a guy out?

HELLCATS

i love em. just never had $150 to get me a set. i don't know about how they'd look on an explorer, but for jeeps they are sweet. one other recommondation would be the Mickey Thompson Classic II. i just saw a set on an explorer the other day and they looked SWEET!

I have the American Eagle 589s. I've had them on my last 3 trucks.

Sorry best picture I've got showing the rims.

I have the 15x8 American Racing 172 Baja rims(polished aluminum, not chrome). I love'm. After I got the truck painted, I knew,(after a bit of shopping around), these were the right ones. Definitely a good choice for almost all applications.

I put 15x10 polished Hellcats on my wife's truck and they look awesome (but expensive). I'd get the chrome instead of polished (even more expensive), the polished Hellcats are a ***** to keep clean.

If you don't like chrome I'd go with Rock Crawlers or AR767s. Here's a pic I found of them:

thanks for the suggestions. I have thought about the rock crawlers because they are black, being that my explorer is white with black trim. Those Mickey Thompsons are sweet looking I must admit. It shall be a hard decision.

fenderguy, what did you have before the explorer? just wondering because you said you have used them on your last three trucks.

the reason i suggested the mickey t's is not only the sweet looking new design but b/c the lug holes have steel inserts and won't where out over the years of abuse and tire rotation. THAT'S A BIG DEAL! my set of 589's grew to the size of a quator and i had to get new ones b/c i constantly changed my tires like every 2 weeks. they are not that expensive either, but if you want cheap then the rock crawlers are the way to go. but hey, if you want black, you can always get a set of bead-locked wheels. tough stuff.
