out of my mind...
Year, Model & Trim Level
1994 X 2015 JK 97XL1200C
My 91 threw a rod a few days ago and pretty much toasted itself. I do have another 4.0, and had another one offered to me by a generous board member. But even still this leaves me with a couple of decisions.

keep in mind im startin school in a few weeks, so ill be workin 40-44 hrs a week with 20 hrs of school, and time is getin kind of short, wich kind of wories me at this point in time
also i do have another a4ld that i think is stronger than the one in the truck now that i can put in while im at it.

I could either drop the 94 in as is and hope for the best (i was hoping for the best with the 91 and well it threw a rod)
I can try and rebuild it myself
I can have someone rebuld it and put it in
I can got a complete "long block"(or whatever they call it) to drop in, complete with that nice warenty on it
Or i can always say f this and put a V8 and trans in it in it, something im not sure if im capable of doing myself yet

Im unsure as what makes sense logically here, so im open to sugestions.

SOHC conversion
or replace your 4.0L with the latest model, lowest mile OHV 4.0L you can find.
I dont trust used A4LD's unles you know it drive and shifted fine.

If you are short on time forget about a conversion, just replace your bad OHV.

Time isnt that bad. I just would have liked to have it drivable before the 3rd. I do kind of acept the fact that thats unlikely to hapen anyway.

I did drive the perspective donor and it seemed ok to me

if i go sohc isnt it almost as much work as a V8 swap then?
