- 2002 Explorer Sport 2WD
Hello to all,
So it's been a few months since my beloved 2002 Explorer Sport was vandalized. Since then I did a lot of work to get her running again, and she was fine, well, until she wasn't.
A few weeks ago, more like a month, we were heading to an event when we stopped for gas. There was man in a Mustang who ran out of gas before he got to the pump. So I alone helped him get it pushed while people just walked by just looking. Anyway, heading back to the Explorer I noticed it pissing something out of the bottom from somewhere. It was a hot day for sure but the A/C never would put out that kind of mess.
We did what needed to be done and after filling her up with water we drove her the 1/2 mile or so home and I parked her. Several days later when I looked under the hood it was an easy find. The upper thermostat housing broke allowing the radiator hose to just let everything out.
I had just painter her, installed new running boards, wheels and tires, shocks, etc.
I decided to do some work on her while she was in the garage so new oil pan gasket, filter, oil, radiator hoses, thermostat housing, thermostat, rear diff cover and gasket. Also cleaning other items but I don't have the torque specs for the oil pan or the transmission pan. Oh I'm changing the tranny filter and gasket as well. I do that every so many miles and as such the fluid is read and no tranny issues.
Oil and tranny pan gaskets would be great if someone has them. Also when she was vandalized they tor le out the upper console with the done lights. I purchased a nice used one but the fuse keeps blowing. I ordered a wiring diagram book and will figure that out later. I will post some images when done as she is beginning to look whole again. Different cor green and a change of trim color definitely makes her jump out at you.
Thanks in advance for the torque specs. Take care and enjoy your rides. Stay safe.
