Photos Need to identify this small hose.

98 explorer eb 4.0 6cyl
There are several posts that could be related but nothing I was for sure that it is it.
Anyway, this hose is longer than this, it probably broke before and was added in. I just grabbed the parts I could see broke off. It's brittle I guess.
I was replacing the spark plugs, plug wires, coil and a few other items and this broke. Now my heater does not work. It has to be related as the heater worked right before that.
It plugs into what looks like an egr valve, located near the alternator on the left front of the motor, and the valve faces out the passenger side of the vehicle.
I need to get this fixed ASAP as it's snowing here now if course..
Any info would be appreciated. Just need to know what I'm looking for to replace it... thanks in advance!

Go get some 1/4” vacuum line
Cut the broken ends flat
Sleeve them with new vacuum line to make a big splice
Basically replace the brittle plastic with new rubber hose that fits snug over it

Looks like the vacuum feed from engine to vacuum ball or vacuum ball to dash (for heater controls)

I figured it out earlier today... it is the egr vacuum hose... None of the stores around here, autozone or Napa, had a picture of the part on the database... but once I figured out that is the egr valve on that site of the motor.... I knew that was it... thank you and I will actually take your advice since the new hose I'm getting doesn't have connections, just hose. I can do it that way and reuse these connectors again... thanks

Ok, so maybe premature celebration... lol
So the vacuum hose is fixed and on but... still the heater does not work... it only blows cold air... any ideas I should look at?

Regardless of the feed vacuum line that goes into the cabin (don't know the color and where it pass the firewall),
it connects to a main vacuum plug behind the climate control panel.
At this plug there must be a vacuum, if not there is a leak (engine bay or inside cabin).

But the warm/cold air is only controlled by the blend door actuator motor, very hard to reach, behind the glove box.
If the actuator motor is working fine and no warm air gets into the cabin, the shaft of the blend door is broken.
Blend door stays in cold position and blocks the heater core.
If the actuator motor is bad you must have a big amount of patience to get him out. 3 screws or release the platik noses,
no room.

The horrible thing is to get out the blend door. Without removing the whole part it is only possible to get access
from underneath the footwell area. Have to cut out a piece of the plastik housing with a dremel, remove the broken door,
put in a replacement door (Dorman 902-221 with metal bushing) and reseal the housing.

Since that vac line is most likely on the passenger side, you should check the heater core shut-off valve that is in between the water pump in the front of the engine and the heater core. Its mounted low along the serpentine belt and when this line cracks you lose a/c and a/c mode controls. It may also explain why you have no heat because its sole purpose is to shut off heat when you use max a/c. it has a diaphram on it make sure it moves and the little arm that moves the valve didnt fall off.

With the right tool the bled door
Motor can be removed without too many headaches
A tiny slim 1/4” ratchet with the right bit (7mm? I think can’t remember) can fit in there and get the back screw
I only use the two front screws to re install
