I'm looking for some referrals to some reliable transmission shops in central NJ (or a willing mechanic that wants to do driveway work). Long story short
I'll try) - My son bought a '92 Explorer Eddie Bauer that we found had some transmission seal leaks, bought a replacement trannie (A4LD) along with a rebuilt engine that we got a good deal on. My son has since given up on trying to reassemble the whole thing. I've been stuck with it for the last 2 years in my garage, 10 years ago I would've finished it myself. Unfortunately, health issues make that near impossible. Now, my daughter wants a vehicle and is willing to pay to get it completed.
Any thoughts/recommendations greatly appreciated!!! I'm not looking for miracles or someone else to blame when it doesn't all work right (shouldn't be any problems - the rebuilt engine runs like a top), we're just looking for someone to finish putting the thing back together and we'll take it form there.
