hey i have a 95x and my 3rd brake light is out. and if i were to get a new ballest or light i could be looking at 50- 300 dollars. so i was thinking and wondering if i could use just a 10 in red neon light and figure out how to splice the wire together to make that work. can anyone tell me if this will work of not or am i just wating my time.

you can probably just splice a line into the regular brake lights........ will a 10" neon fit there?

ours went out just a few days ago also, i'v been to lazy to look into it right now but let us know if the neon worked or not.

You can't just splice into it, I tried. It has a special ballister connected to the 3rd brake light. This small ballister could be the problem and not the light itself. This is also the reason it cost $300.

Sent you a PMsuperxplorer.

could i run a wire to one of the other brake lights

thats what he is talking about. run a wire from the brake light, should be listed as major on the plug. tap into that and run the wire to the ligt gate, mount your light and test. if it doesnt work get a relay and run a wire from the battery to feed power to the neon lite when the brake lights turn on. the relay will act like a light switch.

hope you can under stand this. if you need me to i can try to draw something up and post it for you.

if i were to tap into the left or right brake light will that take much power away from the late that its gonna be noticeable. like one brighter then the other.

I would be more worried about frying your wires then about the brightness. just use the other brake light for a relay and run a wire from the battery (with a fuse on it, dont forget).

I'm surprised that you just can't hook it upto the 3rd brake light wires... oh well. You could also try a junkyard

thats another thing i dont no if i can just wire it from using the 3d brake light original wires. there is a balest but i dont no how man of wire are going to that or not. does anyone no.

Check with me tomorrow. I will try it. But for sure you can't just tap into the balast or the 3rd light itself. I TRIED!

what u thinking of doin then. tell me how it goes.

I am having the same problem... Does anyone know if i went to a junkyard what do i need to take out? Where is the ballast located? And is the any way for me to tell if it is the ballast or the bulb?

And the dealer wants $300- wether its the ballast of the bulb???

williecume, I sent you a PM. This is what you need. I will send Tuesday.
