I just managed to come back to the house now after a day of fun and misery....everything started good as usual you know wheelin out in the everglades here in south Florida but on my out i was on my cell and just wasn't paying attention and so i went through the middle of a 5ft hole!! well of course thanks to my baby i got out but not with out scratches, i mean i sucked water through the intake and so rite after i came out the hole the truck died.....:thumbdwn:
after 30min and letting the mass air flow sensor dry a little it started after serious cranking so i was able to get out completely so i ran to a gas station and did a quick oil change but w/o changing the oil filter and of course after sweating and working for 1 hr drove like 5 miles and i found a jiffy lube so i did another oil change but w/ a new oil filter this time and so even after that im having issues the the oil pressure gauge cuz it keeps on flickering but it only does it a random so now i don't know what to do....
should i change the oil pump?? but i know that's a project in itself!! or
should i just let be and then if the engine blows just buy a used one cuz i checked eBay and they're going for about 600 bucks.....
so any suggestions would help, thanks guys

The gauge flickering could be electrical, not mechanical. You need to take you time and do several oil changes, like you've done, change the trans and transfer case fluids, diff fluids, then see what happens. Make sure all of your electrical connections are dried out. Spray wd40 on them in necessary.

Don't go jumping into changing the pump or the motor. Give it some time. It'll take several days for everything to dry out and then you can see what you've got.

Water will not hurt an oil pump. Like LBarr mentioned, it is likely an electrical issue, not mechanical.

I'm really hoping so cuz i drove it today and still was flickering but da weird thing was it only did it from a dig and i had to floor it too........ like if was starting to go from a red light but everything else seems good!!
i gotta get a snorkel soon... thanks for input guys

i know man that's one of the many next steps too:thumbsup:

Wow, I'm surprised you got out with those tires. Are those All-season tires and you live in South FL?

Sounds like you might have a little water in your engine. If it doesn't clear up in about a week of dry weather or the symptoms get worse I'd worry. Whenever I've gotten flooded out in any vehicle I pull the plugs and turn the engine over for a second or two to flush any water out, unless of course it was a diesel... no plugs to pull.... might also try tossing a bottle of HEAT/STP in the tank to help.

Yeah those are my old all season 31's because one of my buddies kept bugging me about my set BFG M/T's so i sold them to him.....wat mistake that was lololol...
anyways i think you're probably the 10th person who's told me to take the plugs out and turn over the engine so i guess it mus be true!! i was gonna get to that this week cuz i wanted to do a lil tune up with some new plugs and wires and thanks again for the suggestions

Well, you're supposed to pull the plugs and turn the engine over BEFORE you crank it back up. So, if you've been running it, you should be ok. The point of that is to get water out of the cylinders. If its been running there's not water in the cylinders.

That stinks! Hope everything turns out ok. We're down here in So Fl too. Where in the 'glades were you?

True, you are supposed to pull the plugs and turn it over before starting it up the 1st time. If you've been driving it the water should have vaporized and gone out your exhaust. My guess is you fouled the plugs a little and got water in your electronics which would explain the oil guage.. The stp/heat should cut some corrossion caused by water on your plugs.

umm i guess if you are coming from Ft. Lauderdale, take us 27 south to krome ave then go west until you get to us 41 or 8th street, then go south or make a left and as soon as you see the first light to make a right well there is a dirt road there so u just follow that and you are there!!
