1994 Explorer Sport
Been looking at used explorers for a while and decide on a 1st gen. Picked up a 1994 Sport 5 speed. High miles but engine is strong and idles smooth. I haven't really gone through it since the weather, but all the electronics work, rust is minimal. Ordered up all the tie rod ends, ball joints, caster/camber bushings, pivot bushings. All acdelco except for caster camber bushings. The radius bushings are red, can't tell if they are rubber or poly. Also the t-case motor wasn't working, previous owner or mechanic popped a hole in it with a screwdriver or punch to get it to shift. I screwed around with it, and got it to shift into 4wd, but not low range, so I ordered up a dorman. After all that is done I'll go through the wheel bearings. Possibly perform the c-clip eliminator.

Congratulations and welcome.

This weekend is supposed to be pretty nice so get to work.

Gen 1 V6 4x4 4.0 pushrod with the 5 speed in a 2 door is an excellent vehicle! They last a goood looooooong time and have great power and good MPG too. Plus the explorer sport wheelbase makes for a very capable truck in parking lots or on the trail.
Welcome Neighbor!
