New Ball Joint Boot Has Pin Hole

I replaced my lower ball joints (Moog K8695T) less than a 8 months ago and noticed that one looked like it needed more grease so I added some and then the grease began to come out of a small pin hole. I might be able to patch it with a bike tube patch but I would prefer to replace the entire boot. I know that you can just replace the boot but I can't find a replacement boot or even a part number. Should I just call Moog and see if they can help me?

Not the grease relief valve? When Moog lower ball joints are installed correctly, the valves should face inboard away from the rotors.

If not, have your receipt handy and contact Moog direct. They sent me two new complete ball joints due to Mida's botching the job.

Correct. The grease relief valve is facing inboard on both ball joints. The drivers side ball joint has a small pin hole that is about 90 degrees away from the relief valve. I ordered them off amazon so I may be able to call or email Moog to get at least a new boot.

Also bought mine from Amazon. Moog as well as most brands don't sell dust boots separately. Energy Suspension has universal poly replacements, but they won't seal tightly and will leak grease. I took pics first and emailed them to Moog with a brief explanation.
They replied quickly requesting a receipt. Amazon has digital receipts available by year if you go into account orders, then forward
the receipt to Moog. No guarantee Moog will do this for you, but it was easy for me and they even paid shipping. IMO, great company.

Thanks for all the help! It's probably not a big deal if my ball joint leaks some grease over time. The ball joint itself will still be fine but I may have to add some grease every couple months. I may try contacting Moog, but I don't really want to replace the entire ball joint at the moment. I can do the job in about 2 hours but is it worth it? Lol a replacement boot cover would be pretty quick though. But a free ball joint for the next go around! I'll take it!

I'm still not convinced Moog's neoprene boots are what they claim. Having BOTH fail in less than two years does nothing for my confidence. They were never over filled, and only high quality lithium chassis grease was used. Seeing the cracks on the boots, I believe the cause was from over compression more than anything. I agree, if you only have a pinhole leak just keep and eye on it. Separating the tapered ball joint studs from the spindles was by far the most difficult part of the job for me. I saw that thread and was amazed at how bad your ball joint boots got after no time at all! Where they caked with mud and dried out? I always rinse mine to keep them clean when they get dirty/muddy.

No off roading, I'm lowered 3 inches. Very few LEGAL places on this island to go. Quite honestly, I'm still baffled why they blew out.
