Im planning on getting the skyjacker 2" lift, coil, and addaleaf. I know i probly gonna need alignment bushings, and what not, but i remember reading somewhere that it is recomended to replace the ball joints too. I don't belive mine have ever been replaced but ive had lots of work done at several shops to solve my 60 mph vibration and noone has mentioned needing new ball joints so im figuring they are ok. So should i replace them anyways?

Im goin with the sky jacker cuz i notice after about 2" prices seem to sky rocked from 150-200$$ to 500-1000$$, at 4" and up Im guessing that it is because 2" is the most front end lifting without needing a ton more work. Is there any 3" kits that don't require much more work than the skyjacker??

If you have it apart I would replace them, it beats having have it all ripped aparted again should one fail.

Ball joints are not that hard to replace, and the factory ones suck becase you cannot grease them,I did mine last month for about 125 including axel u-joints too:D

I was thinking of replacing mine too when I do my lift. Is it worth it? At 100K is it a good idea to replace them or should I figure out if they are worn yet?

How much are the ball joints if you do it yourself?

Also once you seperate the knuckle from the control arms how do you get the ball joints out of the control arms? Do you pound them out?

only my lowers were bad but I just decided to do them all it really is pretty easy and well worth it,my lower ones just fell out the upper I had to press out but it is very easy, autozone and advance auto parts rents the press for free you just have to put down a deposit then you get it back when you bring the tool back.I had a estimate from a shop to do mine and they wanted 500 to do all four I did all four myself for under 100:D

cool another on the list of things to do while it is apart getting a lift!
