I also found some pictures of the new Dodge Durango concept from Detroit.

they wont make it, it is too radical

I'd say that too if it weren't for the new Ram. I think we'll see something very similar, at least in look when it comes to production. The front end is very "new Dodge family" reminiscent.

well, they might make it... look at how much plastic is on it.. like the crapalance.... maybe the new dodge durcrapgo

my first reaction was also that it was too radical, but my mom (who found the pics on the net earlier and was the one who showed them to me) was actually really excited about it as a possible successor to her suburban hunk of crap. if a 44 year old mother of three likes it how too radical can it be?

Cool, but I`m not impressed with Dodges lately. We get three different brands of trucks for our fleet at work (pipeline company) -Ford Chev Dodge]The Dodge is a 2002 model pickup and it seems very cheap, for instance the plastic grill seems like you could yank it right off when opening the hood one day.

As for the other pickups, I`ve got Ford in my blood, but our 2oo2 Chevy 2500 HO is the nicest truck I`ve driven in a while, The Ford is a close second, but it must mean something when arguments break out at work over who has dibbs on the Chevy!

Here's another angle:

IMO, it's ugly. I'm not diggin the front end.

They will make it. After all it's Dodge not Ford that we are talking about here. It may not look exactly like that but it will be close. :)

It looks like the Durango and the PT Cruiser made out and this is the result the new Dodge Durango Cruiser.

yeah... Dodge actually takes there concept vehicles that people like and turns them into real vehicles occasionally! LOL. Ford has had some unbelievably cool concept vehicles in the past, but because they couldn't sell them 90% of the general population, they were discontinued. The perfect example to me is the himalaya, which is kind of a cross between the expedition and the sportrac. It was basically the body of the expedition with a small bed in the back like the sportrac is to the explorer, I thought it looked wicked cool, of course they never did anything about it.

I agree, that thing is pretty ugly. The only thing I liked about it was that its sportin' a HEMI...:D Here are a couple pics I took of it. I dont like the tail lights on it...

I like it because its taking a risk and forging a new road. It looks fresh and new, and the only think it looks like are vehicles its own company makes.

i think the headlights are way too big. makes the overall size of the vehicle look smaller

wow thats ugly.

I wonder when they are going to go back to the floor shifter and ditch the column shift.

Does anybody prefer the column shifter? I think its a PITA and just plain ugly............

I like Dodge, especially Dodge trucks and the power wagon concept is sweet but that thing is just overkill, way toooo busy............ I think Ford is getting more stylish with less lines and better exterior styling where everyone else is just getting ugly.......I wouldnt buy anything new so I am a little biast anyways, they just dont build trucks like they used to unless you only look at full size stuff, the rest or all lifted cars/minivans.
Everyone wants a cadillac ride with golf cart noise in a full size truck..........YUK!

Bring back the loud horsepower and the rough riding leaf springs!!! Maybe they are having a hard time figuring out how to make plastic leaf springs? Everything is plastic! If I wanted plastic I would buy an R/C car............I was shocked when I saw that the $50K 2003 Thinderbird has a plastic grill!!! for $50K I want a real chrome METAL grill, give me a break!!!!!!!

I have always thought the Durango has been one of the best looking SUVs made. I wanted to get one as a work truck, but you can't fit a 6' ladder in the back laying down (can with Explorer). I rented an '03 Durango for a few days while on a work trip, and I have to say, I was impressed with it. It was quick, handled pretty well, and very comfortable.

Not sure on that one there in the pics tho...........but maybe it will grow on me. And with a HEMI...........oh yea!!

I've never really cared for the current Durango's styling, but I have driven the truck, and I do like it.

We'll have to see what the new one looks like when it hits production.
