OK hmmm...My engines reaching 180K miles (not bad for a 99 huh?) and im thinkin its time for a new one....I found someone wholl install it, my freinds moms boyfreind. i watched him completly dismantle my freinds 98 V6 mustang, put a Cobra engine/transmission in it, put a gas tank in it, and new suspension components, not to mention hes completly rebuilding my uncles wrecked 2002 Corvette Z06, so im sure he can handle it. But anyways, does anyone know if i could fit a different type of engine in my truck? I was thinking of a 2000 Mustang GT I saw with like 5000 miles on it. Could i drop this in my truck, if i get a new transmission? Would i definatly have to get a new transmission, or could i maintain the old one? I really REALLY want it to still be an automatic, so using the GTs manuel tranny really isnt a goal of mine. He said he could in theory, but hed have to see the engine and truck side by side and check em out and stuff...But anyways, I plan to supercharge the V8 one day (after i get a body kit). Would i be able to put this under my hood too?
Thanks, sorry i really dont know much on this subject. I really want to keepmy truck a long time, so getting a new engine will probably be my next step. If i cant fit the GT im probably gonna search EBay till i can find a 5.0 maybe. I know when i switch it its going to be with atleast a 4.6 V8. I have the 4.0 V6 and thats no where near powerfull enouph.
