Year, Model & Trim Level
2000 Eddie Bauer
Just to introduce myself, I am an old guy who has been building streetrods and bikes for many years. I just bought my daughter a 2000 Explorer, 4dr, 2wd, Eddie Bauer edition with 120k on the odometer.

This vehicle is in good condition but has a number of minor problems that I may be calling on you folks to help me resolve.

Thanks!

Thanks for welcoming me

As I said, there are only a few minor problems:

1) Remote lock/unlock only works some of the time and not on all doors? Not sure if I have correct remote. Our remote only has 3 buttons, lock, unlock and panic but the ones shown on ebay for the EB have 4 buttons, lock, unlock, rear hatch and panic.

2) There must be a seperate button somewhere to unlock the hatch from the driver's seat, but where is it?

3) Few chips in trim paint and can't find a paint code for the trim (basic code is LD (Med. Wedgewood Metallic) but the trim is a gold color and seems to be the same on all Eddie Bauer Explorers.

I think the first two are related in the back hatch has a problem with the lock servo. if it's not unlocking either with the remote or the button then it's probably electrical. and the trim i don't believe can be "painted" i believe you just have to purchase new ones, Ped5stang has a sales thread dedicated entirely too 95-01 explorers and i'm sure he could hook you up.
