Just got off the phone with my dad, and they are picking up a built trans on the way back from there trip:thumbsup:

Should be up and ready to wheel in a few weeks:D

Took a roadtrip down the 15 today for dad:D

I was just looking at those too.:(

Are those 33s or 35s, and they look like they're for 17" rims. What are you doing with the wheels already on the ex? I've always liked those. Hmm...

Nice tires, will your dad have 2 sets of tires as in one set for street and these for the trails?

The new tires will be for trails only as they are not street legal.

Sence these are yellow labels with the softer compond, yes. These will be just for offroad. They are 35x12.5 17's. I'm acually having trouble finding a 17" steel rim with 3.75-4" Backspaceing:( Everyone has 4.5 or something.

The 33x10.5 will be for the street...although I don't see my dad driving it much on the street, unless gas keeps going up like it has been. I'm also not convinced the 35's will fit. You can see rub marks in the rear from the 33's. Maybe just need to get a longer shackle, as it still is the factory ones. My dad sugested doing a spring over swap in the rear and my exes popped out of my head  I said do you know how high this thing would be with those deaver over the axle!!!! I guess he forgot about that part.

The gearing could be a issue two, as I belive it's still has 3.73's in it. Not sure until we get a working trans to drive it. However I'd like two pull the rear cover of the diff, and check for a locker and throw a aussie or lock-right in, if there isn't one.

AHHH welcome to my problem. lol

I have only found them with a 4.625 backspacing but there not steel rims....

If you run into any luck let me know

I found 17x8's in a 3.75 BS but they are the old slot stlye alumminum wheels. which are very cool...if I had a old muscle car:rolleyes:

Ok I can get 17x8 Soft 8's (same wheels I have) in any backspace I want, However they are special order and $112 buck  Normally they ar $70 bucks

Congrats on the new ride......

Found another wheel option...with lots of Googling

A place called Diamond Racing Wheels out of Milwakee.

They have this wheel called the "Trucker" they offer a 17x8 with 5 on 4.5 and a backspacing from 1"-5". But they are $126 each:rolleyes:

Other then that, I know you can order steel wheels with a custom Backspacing from 4wp.

Edit: Looks like I found the best option yet!! New company called Black Rock wheels, based out of Ontario, Calfornia. They have 9 different steel designs available, all in 17's and they will do custom backspacing, valve location, color (5 options) pinstriping, and reverse. Whatever you want!!!:D

You got that Burns!!!:p:

Im looking for 17x10 with a 4 backspacing. I need to measure before i order tho....lol

Thanks steve

New trans onboard "Big and Slow". Now 365 miles to home we go.

did I read somewhere you were picking up that transmission in my town?

oh, and for the rims, Walker Evans beadlocks are a nice looking 17x9 for a 5x4.5...are those in the right price range:D

I wouldn't call 300 and something a piece in the price range. Hell the wheels would cost more then the whole truck:p:
