2008 Sport Trac Adrenalin
Hi All
A week ago my daughter and I left Denver at 6:30 Friday morning headed for Ohmaha Nebraska to pick up my new to me Red 2008 Sport trac Adrenalin. Checked It out and all was good so we headed home. Got back at 11:00pm. Long day. Next day I started it up to go to the carwash and it has a loud exhaust leak and a pause when it shifts from 1st to 2nd gear. Are there any common issues with these things. Thanks in advance.

Yes. Sorry forgot to mention I did check the fluid and it's good. Are the exhaust manifold's prone to cracking or anything else? I'll get it on a lift as soon as I catch up on work from being on vacation last week.

Fords are notorious for snapping the rear passenger side manifold bolt. The tick should stop after it warms up about a minute or two.

Early '08s had a problem with exhaust manifold bolts breaking, but was solved about mid-year. The problem doesn't usually cause a loud bang though, just a ticking sound until the engine gets warm.

Thanks everyone. I'll check it out and report back.

regarding the transmission shifting, Ford has released a few code updates for the transmission controller. Might be worth having a dealer check that it is up to date on the ECM and TCM software.
