Hey everyone.
My name's Derek. I recently bought a 98 Explorer Sport. Manual 5speed with 107,000 miles on it. It's solid mechanically, and the body is pretty decent with a few dings here and there. The interior os pretty dirty, but nothing a good cleaning can't fix.
I'm coming form the Honda world (insert ridicule here) and I also have an 06, 8th gen Civic Si that's modified. I'm a totally **** about keeping it clean, and after someone hit me in the parking lot, it pushed me in looking for a 4x4 vehicle more so. I wanted a daily vehicle to get back and forth form school, and as a little trail vehicle so I could leave the Civic home as a weekend toy. I looked all over for mini-trucks like Rangers and SR5's/Tacomas but anything manual in an extended cab is very expensive in nice shape.
My brother got me onto the Expo bandwagon when we picked up a first gen for a trail rat. Plans for my second gen are to swap the 3.73's for 4.10/11's, 31's, swapping the limited slip diff from my brothers first gen into mine so he can weld the open in mine, and a bunch of little stuff. Some type of metal off-road bumper, cb radio, and I'm still looking up lifts. I know I can fit 31's pretty much no problem (?), and I'm still searching stuff about lifts. I'll crank the TT up a little, add a leaf and go from there. I'm thinking I'll need more tire clearance for 31's and maybe do a BL or something else lift related.
I'll take some shots when I come home from school of the interior, engine, bay, and interior before and after I clean it.
