This forum has been a great help.
I picked up a 97 Explorer XLT, with a bad Transfer case in trade of a 95 Escort wagon I had.
Interior is pretty decent with 263k on the clock, but unfortunately there are a bunch of other issues that need addressed.
I grabbed another BW4405 at the junkyard, lasted a 2 whole days , so went back and exchanged it for a 1354 . I plan on going a different route with the swap. I am going to disconnect the OEM 4x4 switch and lights, and grab the 93 Push buttons, and 4x4 controller from the junkyard, keeping the 4x4 functions separated from the GEM
I still have to replace the timing guides and tensioners, as well as the intake gaskets, and the left Leaf spring, which has a section broken.
