5 speed to boot! I bet that is a hoot to drive

Welcome to ef!!

Where did that Chrome shift lever come from?

Thanks it a work in progress!
yeah it’s a blast…
it’s just a generic hurst shifter. I just took the stock shifter slotted it for the hurst to slide into. 👍

ooooo shiny black paint. How's the ride height going to be?

Welcome. Very nice Ranger.

If he was closer I'd give him my 7.5 pulley hehe
How close of a race do you think it would be? The Ranger is lighter, but you'd have a little more power.

I think pretty good. If all my measurements work out maybe 5” taller then a stock fx4. In the picture of my truck I have a 3” body lift and needed about 2” to level the front with the back. I’ve since removed the body lift and i think it really looks good now… not high at all.

Here’s a picture with the 3” body lift still in.

With me dragging along 35” tires and 4:56 gears probably not even close. I’m actually just looking for super reliable decent towing power. I’m pretty firm no big boost for me. I figure it should really be tuned as it is so I might as well jump down a pulley while I’m at it.

So far with the way it’s set up right with 3.5psi I’ve got about 15000 miles on it…. travelled from Detroit to Vegas and back with zero issues. Though when I hit the mountains in Colorado it was like I was stock due to the Altitude.

5" over stock is a great place to be IMO. My Nissan (cough cough) sits a 5.5" over stock and I couldn't be happier with it. My stock gears were 4.63s and I went to 5.13s to keep it as close to stock ratio as possible. I think I was off 1 mph at 60.

What steering gear box did you use? Looks nice this far!

😄 I agree 5” is about perfect for 35” tires, 5:13 wow that would be awesome on the trails!
I’m planning on swapping in the gears from a 3.0 5speed… same strength just a different lower gear ratio for 1,2,3….. 4 th and 5th are the same. That’s why I didn’t go 4:88 good highway but a bit lower
