I would like to briefly introduce myself, I picked up a 1st gen Ford Explorer and have already found a warm welcome and lots of helpful information on the forum. The Explorer is from used car lot in Washington State, and while the body is in great shape and it's relatively rust free, there are a host of mechanical issues to address. Supposedly it has "145,000" miles on it, but with a 5 digit odometer who really knows... Nonetheless, this is a project car and I knew going into this the restoration process (and eventual modification to a Jurassic Park Explorer) would be a a great deal of work and an attestation that I hate money. I was also amped to find one with running boards and a brush guard. Glad to be here!
