Hello All!
I've been reading this forum for a little bit ever since I bought my first explorer in May. Having driven a '88 Bronco II for 6 years it was time for an upgrade and I have been EXTREMELY happy with it so far. I just have 2 questions about it that I hope to get answered here.
#1. Wiring Harness. I found this wiring harness at etrailer.com but I have not found another one anywhere else. Is this the only wiring harness there is for this vehicle? My explorer did not come with the trailer package from Ford so this would all be a brand new hitch/wiring harness. Also what is a taillight converter and what makes this so much more expensive than the standard 4 wire wiring harnesses?http://www.etrailer.com/pc-VWH~118345.htm?vehicleid=20013132
#2. Audio Head unit. My new explorer has the rear audio control so if I were to change the head unit in my explorer would that cause the rear audio control to be rendered useless? The stock stereo isn't terrible but it could definitely use some more power (I think the standard wattage is 4x6w:thumbdwn: ).
Other than that thank you all very much for having this wonderful forum. I have read this with great interest and look forward to posting on here more often.
