Hi all!
I am looking to sort out a couple of things on my new gotten 96 XLT.
1. I didn't see it before but I noticed the trip and odometer no longer work (looking at the service history i got with the car, looks like it stopped working about 6 months ago). Any ideas how to go about fixing this? Everything else on the dash appears to work fine except for...
2. The ABS light is on, the previous owner had it checked out and was told nothing is wrong with the ABS and just to ignore it. Any ideas how to check it out myself? Should I...
3. ...buy a code reader? If so, would this find out why the ABS light is on? If not, can someone recommend a good, cheap device that will? Bare in mind I have to order this from and get it delivered to the Cayman Islands, hence Amazon is my best bet as most sites won't accept Cayman Islands credit cards (they think we are all money launderers here!).
4. The previous owner had rather poor choice in window stickers. There's a couple of old crispy lookin' ones still on it, plus some residue from older ones that were removed. I was in NAPA yesterday and found a can of 3M Adhesive remover. Would this do the job or would it ruin the tempered glass on the back window? I also found...
5. a can of Seafoam! Yours for just CI$16! (about US$20). Is it worth picking a can of this stuff up? Is it easy to Seafoam my Explorer (I watched the videos on YouTube a million times and it looks OK) for a TOTAL and UTTER novice?
6. Finally, I have a set of Kenwood 6" speakers to fit in the front doors. Looks simple enough to get the door panels off with a bit of prying. However, when I take the old speakers out do I have to do re-wiring or is it a case of slipping some connectors off and slipping them on the the connectors on the new speakers?
Apologies, I really am an utter novice so go easy on me!
Thanks a million in advance for any help you guys can give me!
