Good morning, all. I'm new.
Backstory:
I came to my Explorer out of desperation and necessity. Last June, my 350Z was totaled. Bad day.
Insurance came through just fine, but I owed enough on the Z that insurance (plus gap coverage) paid it off. I was on my own to get a new car.
So, the combination of needing a car IMMEDIATELY, ****ty credit (was in the process of being left and divorced by the woman I let help shred my credit), and the realization that large payments every month didn't feel so hot led me to the used car section of Craigslist.
Two days of looking, and I got a decent, strong, beat-up little Explorer that has yet to put a foot wrong. So far, only the transmission slips ever-so-slightly in first, and rarely at that.
I'm slowly fixing all the little things that were wrong with it, and I hope to use this forum to find more advice and suggestions to help me along.
Thanks.
