1992 explorer xlt
Hello everybody. I'm zach, from southern NM. I'm a home welder, hack fabricator, all around car guy and full size and rc rock crawler nerd (feel like I'm writing a weird eharmony profile 😅)

Got a 1992 explorer xlt 4wd auto that my wife bought about 8 years ago for 250 bux with 60k miles from a family member (has about 92k now)

Built a full length roof rack with a light cage and really bad led lights, custom front tube bumper with a hf winch and lights.

Did some extended shackles and pro comp aal out back with rancho shocks, and skyjacker 132x springs (pretty sure they sagged pretty bad with the weight) and Ranchos up front.

Threw in a all aluminum radiator, dual trans coolers and a dual remote trans filter. Wired up a remote start/keyless setup, a cheapie bt stereo with pioneer speakers and did the big 3 wiring in welding cable off a die hard platinum batt.

Engines got a crappy cone filter (air box lid stripped out and I couldn't find a cheap replacement so slapped it on) and a thrush turbo muffler dumped before the axle.

Plans are to do a rear u bolt flip (have u bolts from my silverado and gonna make some top plates) remount the front sway bar and a rear bar froma 2nd gen. longer front shocks and swap back over to rubber radius arm bushings (the poly set doesn't seem to flex at all, ordered the cheapest set on eBay hoping they'd be rubber but they showed up and were poly) and hopefully more

Got some questions, and can hopefully provide some answers. Happy to join the community. 🍻

Here's a pic of the rig (before the 132xs when it had a 2" spacer, sits a bit lower in the front now)
