new mods

I just ordered my 66mm throttle body from summit. I also plan on a MAF, exhaust and a apten chip in the near future. I kinda just wanted to let you know what i was doing. I do have one question though. Should i install these as i get them or wait and install them all at once? I know i need to install the chip last.

Theres a performance shop about a 1/4 of a mile from my house. I finally went in there today to talk about getting my exhaust done. It will be a magnaflow. Anyway we were talking and he told me he would supply and install 4:56 gears for about $250 to $300 an axle. So i will be getting them here soon also.

I might just hold off on the other mods now and the gears first. He seems pretty respectable and has some awesome mustangs there so im gonna give him a try. I will definately let you know when its complete and how he did. (and if that price stays the same)

Ok i got my TB today. I have a question that i think i asked a long time ago, im not sure but now its real. Should i continue with the TB, MAS, exhaust and chip first or go right with the gears first. I need your opinions on what you would do. Thanks.

Hmm, I would go with the gears. You were quoted a great price and who knows how long the price will last?
If its their everyday price then do whatever YOU feel like doing

Well i guess im going with the gears last since i had my magnaflow exhaust done today. It isnt real loud at all. I can hardly hear it inside the truck, but thats what i was hoping for so im really happy with it. The chip, MAF and TB will all go on at the same time next. Thanks all, im starting to get somewhere with it.

I have magnaflow too, 2.25". Like yours, it isn't loud inside the truck, though you can still hear it. I heard it from outside the other day when my dad moved the x and it sounded nice. Nice deep sound. I would put the mods on one at a time, like I did. Then you can see what makes a difference, of course when they are all added up is when they work best. Kind of off-topic but I just got my grill guard today, put it together and going to put it on the x the next dry day we have here. If that ever happens .

How much is a Magnaflow and is it a bolt on?

You can't bolt magnaflows on 97s at least. I had to have a local muffler shop do it custom. Mine was the aluminized steel muffler. Got it installed with welded on chrome tip for $300. 2.25" as stated before, .25" more than stock.

Mine was $225 installed. I supplied the muffler. they replaced the tailpipe and the pipe going from cat to muffler. So i guess it wasnt to bad. I can hear mine outside, Inside a little but not much at all. Idle or very low RPM is when i can hear it.

Go Red!! That way I'll know the path to take for mine Except I already did the Flowmaster dual exhaust, and have the 4.10's sitting here waiting for me to get off my butt to put them in. Let me know when you get the motor mods done.. peace

$250-300 an axle is cheap as hell. I think I paid @$700 an axle.
