I have a '98 XLT looking for better sound. I have a custom intake, but I was thinking of maybe getting a flowmaster muffler. I still have the stock exhaust and I am just thinking of replacing the stock muffler. 1. How hard is this to do? 2. What sizes would I need for the pipe sizes? What is a good sounding muffler? See, the bad thing is I have the V6, not a V8:(.Would this be a good investment for sound with short finances? If you have sound files, please attach so I: know what it sounds like. Thanks!

It's a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler 2.25in in/out and I believe the part # is WLK-17731 at summit racing (thanks to Froader)

I'm pretty sure 96limited has a V6 OHV and says everything except the muffler is stock. For me the sound is just right..not to quiet, not to loud but its aggressive. I'm not sure how hard it is to install but I'm getting one installed at a shop in a week or 2.

Magnaflow, 2.25in/2.5 out, plus 3in tip.

MAC has a really agressive sound with no drone. I offer just the muffler if intersted.

ive got an imco, 2.5 in and 2.5 out (4.0 ohv)...sounds wicked good...doesnt have the annoying drone and buzz like the flows do on the 6 cylinders

I put a flowmaster delta flow 40 series on my 96 OHV, it sounds pretty good, not to loud. There is a thread in the "list of useful articles" forum that has a good write up on how to put on a flowmaster muffler.
