I was driving my X with the max. amount of people. When I floored it, the RPMs in I think 2nd, wouldn't even touch the 3000 RPM mark. I thought it was all of the weight. Well, once I dropped them all off at a friends house, I tried it again. I let the tranny shift to second, then floored it. It downshifted to first but again wouldn't touch the 3000 line. Anybody know what could cause this to happen?

Possibly fluid level. Remember to check the fluid level warm.

sounds like an engine/fuel problem...... rpms shouldnt be lagging if the tranny is bad......

My auto can get up to 140KM/H in 2nd gear......not exactly the best idea to try but it was an accident, by the way I wasnt driving!!!!!!

Thanks for the replys. I'll check the fluid level tomorrow.

I checked the fluid level and its full. Any other thoughts?

You should be careful doing that sort of stuff, the ford automatic transmissions arent exactly known for their outstanding quality. :hammer:
