I need some opinions. I have ordered an Add-a-Leaf set for my '98, but I am concerned that this is not the best way of getting a couple of inches of lift on the back. I have exchanged emails with a couple of people from this site, but want some additional advise as to the best way to approach this.

Because I’m not looking for a lot of lift, I'm planning to do the Torsion Twist for the front and want to match up the rear (a little higher in the rear is preferred). This is purely cosmetic (unfortunately - the wife you know), so the truck will not get a lot of abuse.

Should I order the Warrior 153's or stick with the Add-a-Leafs?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

i would say... since its strictly cosmetic, go for the shackles. the shackles wont change your stock ride suspension, but if you get add-a-leafs, it will stiffen up the rear suspension and give you a stiffer ride. if you just want it a little higher but want to keep the stock specs... go with shackles. good luck with whatever you decide on!

I'm with Chris. The shackles are cheap easy to install and look good.
Oh and welcome to the site. I think you'll find just about everything you wanted to know about your Explorer right here and then some. We have a pretty good search function here, that can help you find lot of answers to your questions, and if it can't, there are many here that have a wealth of info to share.

Just out of curiosity how much where you going to pay for the add a leafs. I did a TT and war153 shackles, and because my leafs had begun to sag I only got 1.25" and was a little dissapointed.

I got my add-a-leafs through summitracing.com for about $36 to my door.
