New springs?

I know my explorer is a truck but I was wondering how I could soften the ride a bit. I was told on here that I could put springs with a higher spring rate on instead. Now where would I be able to get them? If I purchased a lift kit do they come with springs that would soften the ride? However I would really like to just stay at stock height. Thank you.

Easiest way to soften the ride is with new shocks. For a soft ride, I'd suggest Monroe Sensa-Tracs. They retail for around $30 apiece and provide a good ride. But remember that you're driving a truck with a solid rear axle, semi-solid front axle, and a short wheelbase so its not ever going to ride real great.

wouldnt it be a lower spring rate for a softer ride?

Thats what I thought, unless the person who told me mistyped. jayhawkexplorer I thought that too aparently it doesnt only the springs control the softness of the ride. I found these: http://www.explorerexpress.com/catalog/pages/springsbushings.html Do they actualy work? Thank for any help!
