New supercharger kit for 4.0L

I was going to but never got around to it. I sold my SC to another X owner who is in the process of making it work.

Stolle,
I like how the water/meth injection cooled down the air. I have been looking into it for my F250. Were there any other gains noticed?

man i am new to this site but i have a 94 ford ranger with the 4.0 and i need to get horse power the truck in on 20inch rims and 42inch tires has a dana 44 front with 5 13 and a 9 inch with the same gears i just want as much horse power as possable but i dont know much about ford v6 i would like a supercharger or turbo bout cnat find anyone that makes one for this motor so get back with me and let me know if you know anything thainks fordmanNC

charger plate

im not sure if they did it to cnonfuse poeple but that plate is on backwards i have the exterra charger and will be making my own adapter and the fat part of the plate goes in the front because the back it skinnier and if you look at the adapter its offset to the driverside then look at the charger mounted its on the pass. side of the motor was this to make it harder for otheres to copy i wonder
mounting it the way its shown the pulleys will not line up at all so if you already noticed that good job but if you havent it all makes sense if you filp that plate around

Update for this old thread

I know this is an old thread, but thought I would update.By the way Just joined.
Just talked to Thomas Knight company adn they have new recomendations and mod/adapter kits for the Eaton M112.He still does kits for the M62 but if your planning to mod more than intake i/e headers, dual exhuast ect.The M62 doesn't really have the necesary output needed and just would not be doing any justice to the 4.0 with the increased mods.
The M112 as he said is basiclly on 03-04 Cobra Mustangs. They can potentially be found at a dealership for about $800 or $900 from a customer upgrade.I couldn't find one locally.Found one through a local wrecking yard via parts location in Rhode Island for $900 plus shipping.Could find no affordable ebay listings.Best place so far has been on Mustang forums for an average of $375,but they were old post and haven't had a chance to register and converse with members.
The new adapter kit from Thomas Knight is about $2000.He said to research performance specs on The Eaton site: http://www.eaton.com/EatonCom/Markets/Automotive/index.htm

Btw

If your buying and planning on going with the M62 mod, careful what you buy,I believe he said there are 3 or 4 styles of this model. One of the most common is for GM 3.8 Buick,Pontiac,Olds.I guess it's different.Ask before you buy as far as vehicle of origin as alot don't post details.I just bought one for a good price but could be the wrong style m62.Keep in mind the original post, has to come from an Extera/Frontier.

Does he sell just the intake adapter for the M62?

Eaton M62 kits.

Yeah,Thomas Knight still sells just the adapter plate for the M62,but they don't list just that item on their website: http://www.boosthead.com/home.php
All the contact info is on their site and it's probably better to call to order that as it's not listed individualy.Like I said only listed on the web as a kit.The other good thing too,is that they do layaway programs. You can put like $500 down on a part and pay the rest over time. Can't remember how long but it's pretty reasonable.Read their thing on layaway,it's actually quite a humerous offer and invite. You can negotiate for less down on the layaway, based on price and finances as things.
A heads up,when you call,be prepared for an earful on the same thing I posted,as they are very Knowlegable people about these things and put alot of time and effort and research and tial and error into their mod designs and products.

sweet well i saved the number and hopefully i get one soon. Trying to finish up my mustang and i got a supercharger waiting for this truck hahah

i have a ford ranger 4.0l, would this kit work on my truck?

90 days in the county, fell behind.

Uh,I'm not sure on an '01 ranger, theres alot of similarities between 96-01 Explorers.i havent had a chance to research Rangers,I guess the one thing would be the difference on my assumption of the OHV vs. SOHC V-6 and like I said i haven't had a chance to research the Ranger and thats another question i forgot to ask him, because my '96 as well as all of them and i think this adapter kit was designed for the OHV 6 and like i said i forgot to ask about the SOHC which i think droped under hoods in 98. But these guys are serious machinests and I wouldn't be surprised that if they don't make it available on open market for the right price you could negotiate for something custom, not for sure but worth a try if they don't make something already available.

4.0ratsun do you make these adapters to mount the m62 on the 4.0 ohv??

Thomas Knight Turbo Upgrades & Superchargers

Hi guys, how and where can I find Thomas Knight. Here in Australia there is no performance for the explorer and as I just installed a brand new motor in a crate from america I would like to supercharge it..
If any one can help I would greatly appreciate it...
Cheers
Jack

Wow, old thread....
You have the OHV motor?

Im in the process of pulling pieces together to add a M90 to my 2000 Ex with the 4.0 OHV.
The vendors I'm using are Ron at bansheesupercharger.com and James at hensonperformance.

Ron has supplied the lower mount, and intake routing. James has supplied me with Maf, injectors, and a wealth of tuning expertise to make it all work without blowing up the motor.

I'll be starting a thread in 'needforspeed' on this forum. There is also a current thread on installing a m90 on a ohv there.

Do a bunch of reading about it. If I didn't think I could handle it (With help) I wouldn't do it.

I think Ron can still set you up with a lower intake mount. Mine has been shipped, and I have confirmation its cleared customs to Canada. No pictures yet.

Where can I purchase the adapters from? Let me know please.

Thanks
Justin

supercharger?????

hey guys, I have a 1999 explorer sohc. I'm looking into a supercharger but I'm not sure which one to go with. I don't want to spend the money for a crappy one but I'm also not sure which one to get. I know I can install it but I def would like some help on picking one and the right one and what all it needs with it. I've seen diff posts about an m62, m90 etc so if anyone could please help me out i would appreciate it. thanks.

m62s too small.
You need to do a bunch of sesrching, and reading. Just remember, even if you do a kit, you will need injectors, a bigger fuel pump, and a tune of your electronics afterwards.

Take into consideration..

The supercharger is going to rise the compression ratio. I know the adapter kit comes with gaskets, but not for the cylinder head? Also do the head studs need to be upgraded?I haven't done a lot of digging on what it's going to take to complete the mod. I'm waiting for my warranty to expire (giving me time a save $ and think) but I was wondering if anyone has put stage 2 cams in as well. I ask cause It seems people are just throwing SC on their trucks without tearing into the engine. I have no problem doing this, just want some info and pointers.
Also I have a spare supercharger off a 1990 third 3.8l SC anyone have experience with this SC?
