Ive posted many times with questions about different tires... and finially decided on some! I chose the Maxxis Buckshot Mudder in a 31x10.50 on stock rims. $510 out the door which i didnt think was too bad... each retail around $120 a piece plus tax, mounting, etc. annnnnd i got a free alignment!! so im a happy customer!!! The tread is awesome and they are some of the quietest mud terrain tires on the market (or so im told) Currently im running 2 inch shackles in the rear because my stock leaves were sagging... it sits almost level.. but has a slight rake. i have some coil spacers but havent got the time to put those in yet. I have no rubbing what-so-ever with the 31's so ill take my time with installing the spacers. no pics yet, but ill post some when i take em. for now.. here is a link and a picture of what i bought. let me know what you think!!!

Looks like a good tire. Get those truck pics up.

We sell Maxxis tires. I've helped someone mount a 35" tall Buckshot and they aren't too bad. The treadpattern is exactly like BFGs M/T! Theres probably more similarities than differences between the two. Anyway, they spin well on the balancer as well. And alignment is always good to have with new tires! Hope you like them. And yeah, they are pretty quiet!

HEY thats great!!! I'm gonna have to remember to get em from you when my current tires run bald (interested in bighorns)!! by the way, SINNNCE you have Maxxis tires there and BFGs, how do Maxxis' height compare to BFGs (for the same advertised size.. ie 33", 35"...)? I mean like you know how Interco's tires are usually a tad taller than other brands? Are Maxxis tires about the same height as BFGs??

i am in sioux falls, south dakota!!! not many people know where that is i bet... well its in the southeast corner of south dakota (which is below NORTH dakota.. north of nebraska, east of wyoming/montana, west of iowa/minnisota.. etc.

also, this might be a bit of help with your size question: http://www.maxxis.com/products/automotive/compare_products.asp?id=191&product_ids=

im sure bfg has a similar chart... just go to their website maybe. anyways, on that link you'll find the model size, and ACTUAL size... in my case my 31" are actually only 30.3"... but just take a look if your wonderin!

one more thing... when i bought the buckshots i was told they were one of the quietest and longest lasting mudders on the market... the reason i was told this was because of the lack of huge side lugs on the tread. the bighorn radials were made of a different material that wore faster, and that model has bigger lugs for deeper mud too. I do a lot of hi-way driving so the buckshots just fit me better... just thought id throw that in there!!! btw... im hoping to get 20-30 thousand miles outta these. (or thats what im told!!??!) but overall, so far im very pleased with my new maxxis tires. they provide a much cheaper alternative to pro-comp and bfg, and look/drive/mud very nice too!!! hope this helps!!!

I have them, and i herd you can get over 40k miles on them

yea back when i was stock i ran 30x9.5 buckshots and there not bad at all, i had them for about 5 or 6 months and by the time i took them off to put my 33s and lift the tread still looked new, they performed very good off road as well, got me out of some tight spots, and yes they r very quiet

My dad has them on his Z71. Quiet, balance well, and like everyone said...really similar to the BFG. Great tire. The biggest reason he got his though was the price. Since he was able to get them for wholesale prices, he got some of those and a set of wheels (look exactly like the Mickey Thompson Classic 2's) for 600 mounted and balanced! :D

i was going to go ahead and buy the 33 buckshots for 135 but then found BFG M/Ts on tiresavings.com for 150 so i figured id go ahead and pay the few extra bucks and go for the BFG seein as how everyone recommended it

hey skoobydoobiedew, I use to live in Sioux Falls. I have now moved to Omaha and I am looking for places to go driving, we should try and go driving some time I come back to Sioux Falls about twice a month. I am just about to buy some new 31 inchers and I am glad to hear that you like the buckshots, because I was looking at those.

I had 33" Maxxis Buckshots on an 02 2wd Explorer with a 3" BL. Made it the best handling and most stable lifted vehicle I ever drove, handled snow, sand and everything I could drive the poor thing through with ease. Dont know about the roadnoise though... They seemed a little loud to me. But a good tire just the same!
