New to Explorers want to make it a mud racing truck

I just bought a 2002 Ford Explorer XLT 4.0 4x4 just and recently replaced the engine the last owner overheated it and I want to race it in the mud and starting recommendations are appreciated not looking for turbos or superchargers yet just basics for now it’s pretty fast on its own but I wanna give the v8s a run for they’re money it’s a project truck mainly want it for mud racing events and deep mud/sand off-roading I’m new to the mechanic work any help is greatly appreciated. What parts can I replace/add to gain power/acceleration speed and make it as fast as I can push this engine?
