New to forum not Ford no AC

What’s up fellow Ford drivers!
Ford has casted a spell on me lol ever since my first one. A Crown Vic 1995, man I miss that car.
I’ll get straight to. I recently bought a 2003 Ford Explorer 4.0L. It’s holy hell in Nebraska right now. Any ideas on getting the ac to work? I hooked up a Freon can to it today. It’s in the red section. I wanted to know is there any small things I should check before I go spend thousands of dollars on ac repairs.

You should request that a mod delete your redundant topic in the new member into forum, since this topic jumped right into the issue you're having which is still covered in this more appropriate forum.

You could put refrigerant in that has a UV dye, then maybe see where leaks are with a UV flashlight.

Is the compressor clutch coming on but it's just not getting cold? Is the pipe from the compressor to the evaporator getting cold? Or some other issue? IDK how much capacity yours holds and A/C isn't my forte so I'll just stop here.
