New to this forum - need help

Hi, I'm Bryan. I have had many Fords and several Explorers including Sports and 4 doors. I currently have a 2010 Limited with a 4.6. It is AWD. Previously on my Eddie Bauer I had the options: auto, 4x4 hi, 4x4 low. I found I had better control in the Eddie Bauer in the snow. My limited has to wait for a tire to slip before it engages. My question is: can my Limited be converted to the other options? Is it simply electronics or is there mechanical as well?

No it cannot be converted if it really has the AWD badge on it because it is a different transfer case than the regular 4x4. However, on the AWD models you can lock the transfer case. Reference your user manual to see how to do it.
