newbie..a bit...about wheel spacers..

okay okay... sorry to bring this post up again... but.. less backspacing = wider stance/track width??? i too want a wider look.. and really would like to ditch my stock 15x7 rims... im looking at rock krawler 15x8's with 31" bfg's but what backspacing should i get? also... what is the stock backspacing for a first gen. wheel??? any input would be greaT!!!! thanks!!!!

As for 1st Gen..I can't say for sure. I know stock on my 15x7 wheels for 2nd gen is 4.5". And yes, less backspacking means it will come out farther. Means the hub on the wheel isn't as deep into it as it goes up against the hub on the Ex. As for 31"s..hopefully someone smarter than I am...99.9% are..lol...can answer you. I only have 30s on mine with the stock wheels.

i have 31's on stock deerhoof 15x7's. they rub a little when i am tilted (like in a parking garage going around turn uphill). I am pretty sure that 15x8's with 3.75 of backspacing will be just fine. that seems to be the popular size around here. even if they do rub, it will only require a little inner fender plastic trimming if you just can't stand to listen to it.
