Hey everybody the infumas new guy here and I am in need of some serious help.
First let me say that I am not really that much of the vehicle fix it guy. I can an do the basics like tune ups, breaks, oil changes and less. I am more of the and make a good helper do with personal instruction guy
. I got laid off from job, truck broke and so am I and need to fix the truck so I can get back to work as quick and inexspensive as possible. Really cant afford new trans or to have it rebuilt.
Ok so here is the problem. It started out when cold would have to shift through gears manualy but once warmed up would shift fine on it's own also had leak. Had a flush, new filter and fluid all stoped. Had accident it started again. Then one day drove truck multiple times that day fine but then in the middle of headed home sitting at stop light truck just shut off. In park truck starts fine, purs like a kitten and revs up like a race car but as soon as you put in R or D it shuts off immedietly. Can after a couple of times and a lot of effort keep it running if you two foot it and keep one on the break and one on the gas giving it a lot of gas. But it runs and sounds like s*** but the second you slow down or take your foot off the gas it again shuts down instantly. Ive been told torque converter (to replace it) or something else in the trans (to replace trans) and now someone said tcc cylinoid. I have looked at a number of threads up here and it does sound like a good possibility but I not only saw the tcc cylinoid but also saw the wires to it or harness to it and I think a couple other things that I have no clue what they are. Now I am more lost and confused then when I started. I had someone thats pretty good at that stuff and seem to know alot helping me and he was going to replace the torgue converter but he baild out on me due to personal issues. Now I am left lost, confused, broke, needed and out of time. My truck apart with the trans disconected from engine resting on the exhaust and dont know what is the problem - what I should do and where to start. So can someone help me and tell me is it the tcc cylinoid if not what is it, what I should do and where to start or am I just sol? Please help.
