I don't know about you guys, but my Alpine 6x8's are ONLY held in with 3 screws, one of them will not fit, on both fronts at least, the backs where fine. I am upgrading to some Kicker 6" components fairly soon, and I will just make some simply MDF adapters.
I'm not going to get speakers quite yet. I still need to finish getting the subs wired. School is finally out but I have now started working full time now. So I have no time to do anything else. Oh well I can buy cool parts and just look at them right? But I am considering putting my midland cb/weather radio in I had from my jeep. But I might only use it for the PA function
I might put the cb in place of the 6 disc changer. The radio is on of the small body type ones. It's a midland 5001z and has weather function. I might put a small antenna on just because I like the weather function it has
Finally finished the subs. Grounded the amp in the driver side bolt that holds that "flap" thing down. Bare metal obviously. I freaking missed them!! Lol but I might have address some charging issues. I have head light dim when the base hits. And I just have my sub amp hooked up since I don't have aftermarket speakers yet. I can't believe it. With both amps hooked up in the jeep even with it off I never had any head light dim. Oh well lol. I like driving this better. I'm still looking into the cb install a little more.
I'll try and get some pics later this week if I have time so you guys can finally see the "sploader" as my buddies call it now
What kinda amp are you running and at what ohm? Also look the the "big 3" and do that wi the biggest wire you can find.. Basically adding 2 extra grounds up from and a run from alt to battery.. Makes a world of a difference as far as headlight dim.. I had big dim before it and absolutely no dim now...
It's a Jensen 4ch amp. Each sub is on 2ch bridged at 4ohm 150 watts each. I will probably try and go with 0ga. I can get it for 2 dollar a foot. I also want to build a custom box for theses subs and build a amp rack to go on the "flap"
Took the cb out of the jeep. And was lookin at mounting it in the center console. If I can figure out how to get the 6 disk changer out, I think the radio will slide in just perfect where the change holder,Kleenex thing is and I won't have to make a mount I don't believe
So the other day I tried getting something out of the back seat for work. And the driver side rear door won't open. The lock knob thingy only goes up about half way. I think the mechanism might need cleaned or something. But how do I get to it since the door won't open?
I had same problem I just kept locking and unlocking the doors till it unlocked all the way otherwise go buy a slim Jim and unlock it that way good luck
Have you tried to open it from the inside ? The front doors unlock when opens from inside
My Handel was broke when it happened to me so I didn't get to try that way
Not sure what's wrong with the door. I'll figure it out sometime. But Thursday I'm picking up a sheet of 3/4 MDF. I'm building a new box. Going to have 2 sealed chambers. Before sub displacement each chamber will be jus under 2.5 cubic feet. I'm also picking up an ar 15 lower to build a new gun if any of you guys are into that.
that wire will be way to thick to put in that amp.. you will have to (thin it out) to be able to fit it in the positive terminal on the amp side. but with that being said bigger wire is always good because you will not need to update later. (if you decide you want more power) or you want to run a distro block and do a separate amp for door speakers etc...
do you know the voice coil options on your subs? single 2 ohm? dual 2? dual 4? dual 1? etc...
