I used Nightshades for my tail lights and high mount brake light. It worked great. Tint would just turn out badly. I highly recomend removing your tail lights before any kind of modification to them. Use light coatings of Nightshade, otherwise you will get a slight runny effect, which happend to me :( but paint thinner is a wonderfull thing, and I just re-did it. I will attach pics in awhile

That's what I thought... I just wanted some verification from you guys....

where would you recommend buy it from? I've seen some on ebay, could they be fakes?

Thanks
I got mine from Shucks Auto Parts, which is part of Checker Auto Parts. You might want to buy it in a store. If you buy it from eBay you have no idea if the can has been used or not.

mine looks exactly like donner's - 2-3 coats, not totally black but dark enough to look nice, espec with the redfire paint... I used a can of window tint spray made for model cars, from a local hobby shop. I had tried using the Gila window film tint (easy to remove) which did not work on my third gen b/c of the groves in the tail... go with the spray for sure - but try your local hobby shops - as a last resort order it online...

and i believe that the legality has to do with the distance the lights are able to be seen from, nothing to do with the housing's color, just that brake is red and reverse is white... funny thing is your stocks still say DOT approved so who's not to say they were manufactured like that lol, as long as they dont look crappy up close

Euro style, maybe?

Your tail lights look good, but you should maybe have put another coat on them. They still look slightly stock. I'm going to save up and buy the euro style tail lights, as soon as I can. They are acctually a good investment. You should check out www.lmctruck.com, or eBay if you want to go with euro lights. :D

Just use some translucent black vinyl. You only need maybe a few feet of it to make your own blacked out taillights.
