Trails in the Pines are a joke compared to Paragon. The Pines are dirty roads, sand pits and a few mud puddles, nothing very serious.
I just drove past Garden World yesterday. Sometimes I'm up by DeliBizz with the other Mustang guys. Send me a PM and we'll chat.

As for a place to meet, your guess is as good as mine. I dont know if I can make it for this trip.

I want to make this trip so bad..but I don't think it's gonna work out.. I graduate the 20th of June(Friday), so I'll be out for most of the week or two following that...what weekend are you guys going?

What the Hell can be more inportant than 4wheeling down in the pines? 3 days after I graduated, I was working my summer job, just like all through HS. What the hell is summer break. I'm in for the weekend trip, hoping to have a truck by then.
Later,
Shaun

*chants* fourwheeling fourwheeling fourwheeling fourwheeling.

I have to agree lets go wheeling, I am game for any time after 18th of may when I am done with finals

Hopefully Muskrat and I will be going down to Forked River some time soon to do some wheeling. He's looking @ getting a new ranger (some thing with 4wd no more 2bywheeling :p). If we figure anything out ill let you guys know and maybe we can get a group together to go wheeling one night.

You guys said June 20 or thereabout. Sounds good to me. Hmmm 4wheeling, camping and beer  I love it. I’m a newbie with wheeling, what should I make sure I have if we go?
I have a CB, but need a new antenna.
Don’t have tow hooks yet:nono:
No tow strap
What else?

Basically

I carry some tools ..... tow strap ...get tow hooks and put them on (they're not too hard to put on) spare tire..first aide kit..... gallon of water....about a quart of all the other fluids... the trails in the pines are not even nearly as rough as Paragon..... so anything more would probably be overkill.... oohh a tire gauge is handy also

I went looking for the tow hooks last night. I found the regular ones like the jeepers use, but I could not find them with the springy thing on them. I those would be the ones to get. Other wise the strap would fall off. :frustrate Got to keep looking.

Don't worry about getting ones with clips. Most people don't use them because they tend to get in the way. The ones from Wal Mart are just fine, but you need to remove the bumper, and drill a couple of hole in the frame. Do a search on here to find instructions.

How about a front mounted hitch? Would that be sufficiant enough for a tow point instead of hooks? That goes for the rear also. I have the lower valence that doesnt have space to get to the hooks if I put them in. And I dont want to take it off everytime I go wheeling.

I would love to get one for the rear but I cant find one for less than $80. Shipping on it is a killer. For the front I rather go with the hooks.

Get a trail hitch ball and use that for the rear tow point.

I have that already. But I thought that it is not strong enough to pull on.

Is anyone making definate plans for this run?

I think Muskrat and I are gonna go wheeling down in the pine barrens tomorrow (short notice yes i know.) but if any one else wants to go lmk. you can email me or call me @ 908-646-4119

I think somebody on this site had a thread on installing hooks from a Chevy Z71-yes, I know Chevy's suck, but the hooks are supposed to be pretty strong and they fit well...It IS a lot of work though...

You dont need to go through all that work. The rat and i installed my two hooks in about an hour. I got 2 vertically mounted towhooks from wally world (wal-mart for the rest of you :D) and mounted them on the front of my frame pointing inwards so they peeked out by the hole in the air damn. I then cut it out on the inside a little bit so there was a bit more room to get at them. I had to drill one hole in each frame rail for the 2nd mounting bolt i used a preexisting hole for the 1st bolts.
