no 4x4

I purchased a 2001 explorer sport a few weeks ago. Today when I tried the 4 wheel drive much to my surprise it wasn't working. I checked the fuses and all seem to be working. The 4x4 high and low lights do not come on when I turn the key to the on position or start the truck, They also do not come on when I turn the 4x4 switch on . The front wheel aren't engaging either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

OK first off have you look under the explorer to see if it is actually 4 x 4. Some one could have broken in to it and stole the radio or something and the trim piece could have just been replaced with one out of a 4 x 4. Just wanting to be sure before getting you to check 10 different things for no reason.

It's a 4x4 for sure
