no ashtrays?

i don't smoke and don't allow anyone to smoke in my truck, but what strikes me as strange is that there are no ashtrays (front or rear) in my '01 EB. yet there is a cig lighter. my '01 xlt has a pull-out ashtray under the radio stack, but the EB has the console with the driver's message center, which blocks that location. i thought maybe it originally came with one of those removable cup holder ashtrays, but i've searched on-line and i don't see one anywhere for the '01 Explorer. is this just the way it is? i miss using the ashtray as an extra storage compartment.

I had a 95 XLT with an ash try in place of one of the "catch-all" pockets in the console. My 97 and 99 have 2 pockets there in front of the cupholders.

all i have are 2 cup holders in the front and 2 in the rear. one of the front cup holders has a liner and the other doesn't. the rears hide in the rear bottom of the console.

My 96 has the built in ash trays in the center console and the rear door arm rests. Around 97 or 98 Ford changed to the "smokers package" which included a seperate ashtray with a flip up lid that mounted in one of the cup holders. It's been my experience that removable parts like that usually get removed and lost by previous owners.
