98 exp. XLT 2wd .

I had a rusted rear steel line that burst .
I had NO brakes , No front .
added more fluid to master cyl resinoir. and still after pumping no brakes in the front .
I replaced rear line ,bled . brakes apear to be fine.

I thought I would still have some braking in the front if the master cyl is divided/ has 2 lines from it, and a leak in the rear.

What would cause this?

Will air in the ABS system cause the ABS system to be triggered under normal braking?? Had this issue and wound up disconnecting one of my front ABS Sensors so I could drive.

Is air traped in the ABS after a rear brake line leak/brake typical ?
is that typical/ design flaw ??
Seems to me that defeats the purpose of having divided /dual wells in the master cyl.
