I have a 2005 Ford Explorer 4x4 with Advtrak no high beams and no indicator light inside I have changed the fuse under the hood it was bad but still nothing. Any ideas on what it could be?
Also when I go from reverse to drive idle won't hold and it stalls. Was told it could be Idle air control switch. Any ideas?

The throttle body is electronic in your explorer. It is most likely gummed up like the rest of ours get. Easy thing to fix. Get a good throttle body cleaner, not carb cleaner, and a towel and spray the towel and wipe the throttle body down well. Slowly open it with your fingers and wipe up what you can. That will help a lot. So will pulling the battery leads for a day while you clean the throttle body.

Finally figured it out!

After doing a few different things and nothing worked decided to take it to the dealership to have them check service engine soon light. According to their diagnostic machine its throwing serveral things....One no highbeams which i already knew...Two o2 sensor is bad and finally code 305 which is #5 cylinder misfire. So looks like this coming weekend it will be getting new spark plugs and all. Oh and as far as the highbeams its the switch itself.

With the misfire on #5 , is there a way to know that the problem is with the plug and not the coil or wire? I guess you can just replace the plug and see if that fixes it. You're only out $4 if it's not the plug and you probably need new plugs anyway.
