Thanks to everyone for the help with install the 4.L and A4LD in my bronco II
With all the Explorer stuff on it, in and powering it, I can now call it an X Bronco....... sorry..

My electric transfer case is not dropping into low range.... Any ideas on what the problem might be before I tear into it?

Thanks,

Harl

you can take off the transfer case motor and manually select low from there to make sure it works

The shift motors can stop shifting into gears when they get worn. There is a rebuild thread on here.. (I think its listed as shift motor rebuild)..

If you think there is a chance the transfer case itself might be bad, just shift it by hand. Once you get the shift motor off you can rotate the transfer case using a pair of pliers.

I can electrically shift into 4 wheel drive high, but no low range. Everything seams to work on cue except for the low range. I'll look for the rebuild post... .

To be honest now that I have the 4L and A4LD in and running, I just want to throw the drivers seat back in and take it on tour. Unfortunately I have allot to do before I can do that.

thanks for your help,

Harl
