2003 explorer 4by4 sport
I have a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport (not sport trac), I think XLT, and it's a 4 by 4. When I drive it dings if I don't have my seat belt fastened yet. If I park and accidentally forget to turn off my headlights, it does not ding at me like other cars have. I would like to know how to fix this. There is a switch up on my rear view mirror that says something like autolamp, but I don't know what it does or if it has anything to do with this. My door locks work key less entry and keypad both work. When I first open the door to get out it dings a couple of times then stops (any time I get out after driving). However my car never tells me if my lights are left on, and I've run down my battery on more than a few occasions in the last 2 years. I saw some posts about stuck actuator switch, but the door does chime when open (at least a few times). Does anyone know how I can fix this. I'm assuming of course that my car does have this feature. Thank you for reading.

The Explorer Sport is on the previous generation Explorer platform and unfortunately I don't know much about it. Ask in the 1995-2001 forum and you'll get answers from people who really know their stuff because like I said your vehicle is based on the 2nd gen trucks.
