No reverse gear.

HELP! My 1999 Ford Explorer has lost reverse, what could be the problem? This happened before then I lost all forward gears and had to pay $1700 for a new tranny about 5 years ago.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your post into its own thread with a new title in the transmissions section. Do you have a flashing O/D light? Do you have manual 1st gear? Did you check the fluid level?

No reverse in the Explorer, but I have all drive gears.

My exploere down shifted, then the overdrive light stared flashing, then I had no reverse. What could this be? This happened 5 years ago and I lost reverse first then 2 months later all drive gears, cost me $1700 for a new tranny.

Your second post was moved into this thread. Please keep everything in the same thread. You have to find out what the code numbers are. Take it to a transmission shop to have the codes read.
