Whats up to everybody! I own a 91 Ford Explorer. When i,m going around turns{right hand turns} The rear end breaks loose, and if it,s raining{I live in Wa. State, when is it not raining}I lose total traction i have to let up on the gas.My tires are 50%,But it,s doing this since i,ve owned it { 5yrs}And i keep the tire pressure right around 30-35psi, i,ve tired other pressure and still the same results. When i apply my brakes she wants to slide.Alittle less when i have a full tank {that doesn,t happen often} The front end doesn,t bail on me that often. Doing the speed limit on the freeway can be a white knuckling situation....And I,m BLACK!!!! I can,t wait till I can get my CJ5 or 7 I,ll be in heaven..Thanks guys! Semper Fi

Could this be caused by a bad trac lock? Do you have an LSD in that?

Sounds like the tires. Tires are many times more important than people think. A lot of tires are awful in the rain, or snow, etc, and others are amazing comparatively.

A differential with a limited slip will break both tires loose in the rain, in a turn. An open diff. will just spin one tire, so sliding the rear is less likely.

You might start shopping for some better tires. Assuming they are 235/75/15's, there are dozens of choices. Look on the Tire Rack website to see what they range in cost.

Look hardest for tires that handle the best, in the wet. I bet there a good choices for $65-$80 each. Skip the expensive Michelins, about 30-40% of the cost is for the name. They aren't that much better. Good luck,

Put in a locker, that will fix it.
