noisy belt?

I have come to notice that the belt on my truck is rather noisy....
well it may not be the belt......but when its running, with the Hood CLOSED u can hear it making noise.....it may be the fan, but one of the 2 is making the sound.....


is there any way i can quite the belt down?
i'll start here see if this fixes the problem

wd-40 or some other form of engine lubricant, although that's only temporary, it will probably last 30 mins or so. back when i had my 92 f150 it did the same thing, except it was loud. if yours has the 302, then there is a small plastic pulley that goes bad and starts squeaking. its a big problem with the 302, or so i was told. and replacing that would probably stop it.
 






Change the belt or soap it,check you tensioner pulley too:D

the belt tensioner is ok, just changed the alternator about month ago and it was def. keeping tension on the belt!! hehehe

soap you say?
like the kind i'm eating , i mean shower with? hheee

You could go out and buy belt dressing or wd-40 I would just use a bar of soap it does the same thing:D
