just had the gaskets replaced i was told the heads were fine when i was in wa. wish me luck its goin in for a compression test. i noticed blue smoke when i took off from a stop. btw me and another person on here are beting its a blown head gasket a leak in the intake or cracked head.

i got it back i had a block test done on it there was no visable leaks but was loseing coolant during testing. so they looked up the tbs on it and what it was saying the loseing coolant not showing visably could be in a result of a loose or bad intake manifold gasket upper or lower or the intake itself. wont know till they start going into it further takeing things off.

i didnt have time to do a compression test i started to do it but had a hard time screwing in the tester on the passenger side back spark plug so i decided to pull the plugs out and to see how there like i just put these in 6k miles ago looks like they need to be replaced that one oily spark plug puzzles me. heres the pics

If you lucky, that may just be the lower intake leaking..

If your unlucky, thats head problems, or possible ring problem.. But ring problems wouldn't make it smoke like your vid.

Once you get your compression #'s we will have more info to give better ideas..
If you find that #4 cylinder (drivers side front) is lower compression than the others, put a "little" oil in there, and do the compression test again.. and see if the #'s change.. Actually, do that on any cylinder that reads different than the others.

Also, the smoke in the video to me looks white, not blue. .which is water not oil.. or at least mostly water.

what does oil on that plug mean?

Just that oil and or water is getting into the combustion chamber. the next question is to figure out how.. You'll need to do the compression test before you will have a better idea.

im on aim if you wanna talk more about it. its gonna be till sunday or another day off till i can do it :( sigh

should i atleast change the plugs out be awhile till i get her fixed

is it worth fixing or replaceing it?

ok so i havent done my compression test yet due to working 2 jobs. but the shop that did the block test told me it wasnt worth doings a compression test that they would just start with removeing the intake manifold. well i want to do a compression test. if it does turns out to be the rings or cracked head. is it just work it to get another used engine put in it with low mileage? i was thinking before putting a used engine is just have the heads checked out and put new gaskets in. but then that will kill my warentee on the motor once my mechanic finds one. any sudjestions?

What is the warranty covering?

If it will cover cracked heads or gaskets or lower intake leaking then don't change anything..

Doing a compression test will make sure its on the upper end and should let you know if its in the head or intake.

If you do a compression test and all come out even then its most likely not the head or head gasket and is more likely the intake.

If you find low cylinders that a squirt of oil doesn't raise then its most likely not rings (which isn't very likely anyway)..

not again... (upadated) conpression test done.

Thats good news...

It "sounds" more like intake manifold now and less like head. Head is still "possible", but less likely..

should i get that last cyl on the passemger side tested? thats where my last issue was. what about the oil on that plug on the drivers side? also oil was comming out of that plug hole when i was doing the compression test. not pouring but splattering alittle
