not so new - but need advice

Computer smoking - looks like I need to replace it. Worth reparing??

I live in Costa Rica so it is not SOOOO easy to go and get parts.

Suggestions??

Welcome to this forum! There might be a short somewhere. Check all of the computer's connections before swapping it for another one.

Have the unit in front of me - the board is fried.

Still be wise to check the wiring before installing the new one. I have seen new computers burn up within minutes. The wiring harness could be damaged, check the grounds.
