iv asked this question before and i got no answer. So i thought i would try it again after seeing a ranger in the new FOUR WHEELER mag have one. It said he had the stock engine and tranny but the transfer case was a np 205. has any one seen or know how this was done? the stock explorer box is garbage for the rocks.

Five bolt vs. six bolt factory TC adapters exclude a simple bolt-on.

I for one am a big fan of the 205,,they are VERY hard to break.

Not sure how they got it on a ranger trans, but I have been thinking of making an adapter kit to do just that. Someone must have beaten me to it

Advance Adaptors makes an adaptor to make it fit.

Seems like you would need a longer output shaft in the tranny. I do have two Ford NP205's on the shelf.

how much is that adaptor? and did any of you drop the gears or just throw it in. i am very serious about this swap so any info would be golden. do you need a longer output shaft?

anyone find anything yet?
